Matthew Cova has been named chief executive officer (CEO) at Regional Medical Center in San Jose.  He arrives at the San Jose facility from HCA Healthcare sister hospital, Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he served as chief operating officer. During his time at Los Robles, Matt established himself as a team-oriented and effective leader who built collaborative relationships with physicians and had great success improving hospital operations.

Matt is also the former chief operating officer of MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas. His tenure there included oversight of $250 million in capital project construction, including expansion of the emergency room and a 64-bed patient tower. While at MountainView, Matt served as interim CEO for six months.

At Regional Medical Center, Matt will lead a structural and cultural transformation while maintaining high standards of quality care for the people in the east San Jose community.

Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in business management from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from UNLV.  Matt was recognized by MyVegas Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Men of Success” in 2020.
