San Jose, CA — Regional Medical Center of San Jose is pleased to announce the appointment of Alvin Haynes, MD, to the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Dr. Haynes most recently served as Medical Director of the Cogent Hospitalist group at Regional and served as Cogent's Vice President of Medical Management overseeing four hospitalist programs in Northern California. He also chairs Regional's Advanced Clinicals Committee which guides the implementation of an expanded Electronic Health Record (EHR).

“Dr. Haynes is a key addition to our executive leadership team,” said Mike Johnson, President and CEO of Regional. “His role as a leader and innovator in health care will be critical as we move forward to build on Regional's reputation of medical excellence and safe, high-quality care.”

Dr. Haynes graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in 1997 and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He also earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree (BSEE) in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

In his new role, Dr. Haynes will work closely with medical staff, executive leadership, the Board of Trustees and nursing leadership to foster growth and ensure continued excellence across all clinical services at Regional.
