Become A Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Regional Medical Center of San Jose. We have a large number of volunteers currently and are not able to accept any more volunteers. Please feel free to apply again during our next round of applications (Spring 2013) for Volunteering.
Regional Medical Center welcomes and values volunteers who come to the hospital each day. These are the volunteers who give of their time, patience, talent and smiles to employees, patients and visitors for the sheer joy of helping others. The hospital has many opportunities for adults as well as high school students to work within a variety of hospital settings. The goal of our volunteer department is to provide assistance wherever needed in the hospital. We do not perform medical or nursing duties. Instead, our dedicated volunteers bring an extra touch of friendliness and comfort to the patients and visitors of Regional Medical Center of San Jose.
No special skills are required, though they are appreciated. We work with our volunteers so their assignments closely match interests, skills and experience.
Most volunteers come in once a week for 3-4 hours; a minimum of one year of service is anticipated. Our wide range of placements and shifts ensure we can arrange a volunteer schedule that's convenient for you whether you prefer weekday mornings or an evening on the weekend.
Volunteers provide patient comfort in more than 20 different service areas at Regional Medical Center of San Jose. Volunteers are involved in the emergency department, Surgery and Pre-Surgical Area, Front Desk, Dispersal, and other departments.
