Latest Stryker HD Endoscopic Surgical Camera and Data Management System Customizes OR
San Jose, CA - Regional Medical Center of San is the first hospital in the Northern California and among first 3 in the state to use the Stryker 1488 HD 3-Chip Endoscopic Camera and SDC 3 data management system in its surgical suites. It’s the latest surgical and imaging technology available.
The video system provides faster, clearer digital images displayed on larger liquid crystal monitors, and are designed to optimize the surgical experience and enhance minimally invasive surgical services to patients throughout the region.
The SDC 3 data management system records and captures the HD images and videos and manages all patient information in the OR. It enables surgeons to pre-program customized profile settings, including display preferences and operating room settings (such as lighting requirements) for 9 different surgical procedures. It gives surgeons a clear view of real-time video and all the clinical information they need during a minimally invasive procedure on one screen. It also has the capability to stream all patient data into the electronic medical record.
"The depth of field and image clarity is greatly improved with this new technology and provides for much better visualization of surrounding tissues," said Mike T. Johnson, CEO of Regional. "The addition of this state-of-the-art system allows complete customization of Regional’s operating rooms for individual surgeons and procedures, allowing them to focus on the patient."
The HD 1488 Endoscopic Camera is equipped with Stryker’s first LED light source on the market, which uses less power and is safer for patients because it generates less heat. The monitor is also wireless so there are no electrical cords on the operating room floors.
